===Procedure===
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic which temporarily takes over chemical receptors in the brain blocking pain receptors causing sedation and easing pain.  

===Excited Delirium Syndrome===
[[Ketamine|KETAMINE (KETALAR)]] 4 mg/kg IM x 1 dose  (2 mg/kg IVP)

===Combative Head Injury===
[[Ketamine|KETAMINE (KETALAR)]] 2 mg/kg IVP or IN OR 4 mg/kg IM x 1 dose <br />
